Davidson, Marianne: Willa Cather and F. J. Turner
A Contextualization. The historian F. J. Turner and his frontier thesis have been continually related to the reculturation process in the West, animating American historiography to this day. Willa Cather fictionalized the pattern in her own characteristic way, and that her texts interact intensively with Turner's paradigm has been repeatedly pointed out. Contextualizing Cather with an important current in her sociocultural background and eliciting new subtexts is the aim of this study. 296 Seiten, broschiert (Anglistische Forschungen; Vol. 267/Universitätsverlag Winter 1999) leichte Lagerspuren/near mint
